The last few days at Avilla Elementary School, the 2nd graders got to present their cupcake designs to other second grade classes and teachers who then voted for the two best from each class. The two chosen from each class will then come to life courtesy of East Noble Middle School FACS class!

Congratulations to school board members Dave Pine and Jen Blackman for their outstanding achievement in earning the Exemplary Governance Award at the ISBA Regional Meeting on April 18, 2024. Dave's “Commendable” rating earned him a pin, awarded for 75 points of professional development, highlights his dedication and commitment to excellence. Similarly, Jen's receipt of a plaque and the prestigious "Exemplary" rating, earned through achieving 225 points of professional development. Well done, Dave and Jen, on this well-deserved honor!
The second graders at Avilla Elementary School have been embarking on a deliciously creative journey these last few days. As part of their persuasive writing unit, they dove into the world of cupcake designs. With imaginations running wild, they've been mixing and matching flavors, and designing some creative cupcakes. In the coming days, they will present their designs to other second grade classes and teachers who will then vote for the two best from each class. Last evening, East Noble High School had their Roots and Wings Banquet. Roots and Wings started 19 years ago and has been a wonderful tradition within East Noble School Corporation. This is a special night that honors the academic accomplishments of the top ten seniors of each year. The "Roots" being the foundation that students received by their families. Then the "Wings" that will use to fulfill their dreams using the tools and confidence they were given to them by their teachers. The students were able to bring a special guest, whether it was a teacher or a coach, within the East Noble School Corporation who has made a lasting impression on their life, with some bringing teachers back from their elementary school days. They were able to enjoy a wonderful meal provided by Director of Food Services, Roger Urick, and the East Noble School Corporation Food Service staff. Thank you to the parents, teachers, coaches, school board members, and administration office who came out to help honor and recognize the top ten seniors of the class of 2024! Most importantly, congratulations to our seniors; Shaina Shae Coil, Reese Rouch, Sadie Potts, Lucy Laur, Caden Anderson, Salah Yahya, Lauren Beitz, Connor Leins, Ben Barker, and Lauren Munson.

The STEM Summer Camp will be here before you know it! For the first two weeks in June at Wayne Center Elementary, students will be able to dive into the exciting world of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Last evening, Avilla Elementary School, North Side Elementary, Rome City Elementary, South Side Elementary, and Wayne Center Elementary School had their Kindergarten Round-Up! It was a great turnout of incoming students getting prepared as they get ready to embark on their next chapter of life in the upcoming school year!
This morning, Avilla Elementary School had their Career Day! The 4th and 5th graders had a fantastic opportunity to explore various professions and industries within our area. The students came into it with loads of questions about their professions, got an in-depth look at what they do, and more. It was a great experience for the students to see what job opportunities are out there for them in the future!
To show our thanks and appreciation to Kendallville Area Chamber of Commerce, we donated a merchandise basket for their Annual Banquet & Kendall Awards coming up Thursday, April 18th. It's great to see local organizations like the Kendallville Area Chamber of Commerce orchestrating events like this that not only bring people together but also honor the tireless efforts and commitment of the businesses and individuals who contribute to the vitality of the area. The event will be held at Sylvan Cellars Event Center Thursday, April 18th at 5pm.

Get ready for a couple nights of laughter, catchy tunes, and unexpected twists with East Noble High Theatre's production of "Disaster! The Musical." This hilarious homage to classic disaster films of the 1970s is a rollercoaster ride of music and comedy. Mark your calendars for April 25th, 26th, and 27th at 7 pm, and a special matinee on the 28th at 2 pm. Keep an eye out for ticket sales and prepare to be entertained by the talented cast and crew of East Noble High School!

The spirit of camaraderie and competition thrived at East Noble Middle School during the exhilarating "Tug-Of-War" event last week for three days as part of the Mentor Madness. Students from 6th, 7th, and 8th grades demonstrate teamwork and determination as they vied for the title of the best AL class within their respective grades. Before the event on Friday, representatives from GiGi's Playhouse Fort Wayne were honored with a generous donation of $400, a sum collected by the students and staff in celebration of World Down Syndrome Day, which was on March 21st. This act of kindness, coupled with the unique expression of solidarity through the wearing of crazy socks, exemplified the school's dedication to inclusivity and community engagement.

East Noble High School's Student Appreciation Day was a great day to celebrate the school's vibrant community on Friday. They started the day with thoughtful appreciation notes from their teachers, fun trivia classroom games with prizes involved. Playful rock-paper-scissors contests against classmates for the most necklaces for prizes, and more. The sweet treat of ice cream during lunch added a cool twist to the festivities. The high school would not be possible without the amazing students. They are the ones who make East Noble High School a great place.
