Unsung Hero

In the Fall of 2016, East Noble was fortunate to add Amanda Wilcox to our Psychological Services Team. From day one, Amanda endeared herself to her coworkers with her positive attitude, team-oriented approach, wealth of knowledge and her infectious sense of humor. School Psychologists are often thought of as operating “behind the scenes”. Their primary role is to provide testing for students that may require special support to be successful. In most corporations, the typical school psych is someone that many will never interact with. That is not the case at East Noble and certainly not the case with Amanda. She is active in leading professional development as well as with RtI Teams. Her primary schools include Rome City and North Side Elementary, as well as, East Noble Middle School. However, Amanda’s presence can be found throughout all East Noble Schools. Amanda consistently seeks to better herself and to provide new/better support for East Noble students. Her work with groups like our Autism Team as well as her willingness to go above and beyond her assigned role make her invaluable. For those of us lucky enough to work with her every day, we see her as having a profoundly insightful perspective. She is credited as describing East Noble as the land of Rainbows and Uniforms. That type of positivity is absolutely contagious. Thank you, Amanda, we are better because you are here.
