 “High Five”

High Five!

This Week’s “High Five” goes to a driver that we desparately NEEEEEEEED in our efforts to keep buses rolling on schedule. Dan Cosentino is not assigned to any particular route, but can regularly be found hopping in a bus at the last minute to make sure students are able to get to or from school without disruption to their normal bus service. Dan is a substitute driver, arguably one of the most challenging roles to play in the Transportation Department’s daily support provided to East Noble students. When drivers are sick and can’t drive their routes,we call Dan. When drivers need to take a personal day, we call Dan. When there’s a sports trip or field trip we can’t get covered, we call Dan.

Dan has proven himself to be an outstanding asset to East Noble Transportation and has supported both students and drivers on an extraordinary number of occasions this year. Dan has driven routes over 90 times this year, and each time greets students with a smile. When I find myself in a driver shortage and have to drive one of our routes myself, I usually hear, “Oh man, we were hoping Mr. Dan was going to drive us today…” Truthfully, it’s a real shot to my ego, but he DOES make quite an impact on the students he gets to engage with at all building levels. The number of times that students would have been left without a ride to or from school this year if Dan had decided he was unavailable would be crippling to EN Transportation. Additionally, Dan has been credited with recruiting more driver candidates than probably any other East Noble employee in the history of our referral process, and the number continues to climb! He is SO dedicated to the EN Transportation Department he is rumored to occasionally sport school bus underwear.

When not in a bus, Dan can be found enjoying fishing rights at countless private fishing holes throughout the Kendallville area. He does like to work all the angles to support his angling habit. Dan is also a dedicated husband and father always excited to show the most recent video of his daughter Charis acting like a wild child, which Dan admittedly loves. Dan also serves as the Lead Pastor for Legacy Church in Kendallville where he takes his personal mission to make a positive impact on his community even further.

We are SO incredibly fortunate to have Dan sharing is time and talents with our drivers and students. Thank you Dan Cosentino for being a part of our team!
