Performance Qualified School

What does it take to be recognized as a Performance Qualified High School? According to the Indiana DOE, “In order to be eligible for the performance qualified program, a high school must receive an A for the previous school year. A high school remains designated as a qualified high school until it either receives a C or lower for one school year or receives a B or lower for two consecutive school years.”  East Noble High School has been an "A" rated school for the past two years.

What does it mean to be a Performance Qualified High School?  It means that East Noble High School will be allowed the flexibility during the 2019-2020 school year to provide curriculum, instruction, and programs in new and different ways than what is required from other high schools.  Normally, a high school’s instructional day consist of at least 6 hours of instructional time and 180 student instructional days.  However, East Noble High School will now eligible to exercise some flexibility around the instructional day requirements, as long as the total number of instructional minutes provided during the school year meets the required time-frame of 1080 hours.
